NOOR DELIVERS KEYNOTE AT NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Ahmed Noor, William E. Lobeck Professor of Modeling, Simulation and Visualization Engineering at Old Dominion, delivered the keynote lecture at the annual National Agency for Finite Elements and Standards (NAFEMS) world congress, which was held in Boston May 23- 26.
Noor's presentation, "Virtual Product Creation, Learning and Training in the Coming Intelligence Era," focused on his research in emerging technologies that have the potential of making signification transformation impact on product creation and learning. "People will be surrounded by smart intercommunicating tools, devices and robotic networks, which are seamlessly integrated in the environment, and beam information to each other," Noor said.
"The tools and devices will be sensitive and responsive to the people in the environment. The environment can revolutionize learning, as well as significantly enhance productivity, stimulate creativity and innovation in future global virtual collaborative enterprises," said Noor. "The new era can be called the Intelligence Era."
