Monarch Kids Cub Run to Benefit Child Development and Study Centers
Friends of the Centers for Children at Old Dominion University will sponsor a Monarch Kids Cub Run on Saturday, April 16.
The fundraising event, to benefit the children at the centers, will be the highlight of a month of activities by the Child Study and Development Centers designed to promote healthy eating and living by young children. A table will be available for monetary donations on the day of the event to benefit the two centers.
Open to all ages, the Monarch Kids Cub Run will feature a 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run. The entry fee the day of the race is $20, with registration scheduled for 7:30-8:30 a.m.
The 5K run/walk will begin at 9 a.m., and the 1-mile fun run at 10:30 a.m., at the Child Study Center playground, behind the Education Building. The courses for both events will be on the campus, ending back at the CSC playground.
These are not sanctioned races; the 5K run will be timed, but electronic chips will not be used. There is no rain date for the events and no refunds will be issued.
The event is sponsored by Friends of the Centers for Children and Smart Beginnings. To download an entry form, go to www.education.odu.edu/monarchkids.
