Bill Bucher, executive vice president and CFO/COO of Axium Healthcare Pharmacy Inc., a Florida-based specialty pharmacy firm, will be the guest lecturer for the Landmark Executive-in-Residence speaker series at Old Dominion University on Thursday, March 31. His talk begins at 12:30 p.m. in 1005 Constant Hall.

Bucher, who earned his M.B.A. from ODU in 1985, is a certified public accountant as well as a certified management accountant. He is an active member of the American Institute of Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, the Financial Executives Networking Group, the Kettering Executive Networking Group and the Association for Corporate Growth.

He has more than a decade of CFO and senior financial management experience, working closely with private equity and venture capital firms. In his role as a CFO, Bucher has effectively partnered with CEOs, boards of directors and private equity firms to accelerate the value creation of companies. He has experience working with a diverse array of organizations in various industries, including large Fortune 500 companies, middle market and startup operations. He has spent the majority of his career in complex, high-growth organizations specializing as a change agent.

During his 30-year career, Bucher has been associated with more than 20 merger and acquisition projects, totaling over $2 billion in annual revenue. He is a former partner with Tatum, a national CFO services firm, and has eight years of health care management consulting experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young.

The Executive-in-Residence speaker series is sponsored by Landmark Communications and ODU's College of Business and Public Administration. The lectures are free and open to university students, faculty and staff, and to the public as space permits. Lunch is provided.

The series is designed to enrich students' entrepreneurial spirit, their awareness of the success that can be built on academic experience and their understanding of the importance of leading with integrity. It is dedicated to bringing accomplished business leaders, authors and internationally known speakers to campus to share their history and vision, giving students the opportunity to learn firsthand the strategies and experiences that forge great ethical global leaders.

Established in 2001, the series is funded by an endowment from a group of former Landmark Communications executives in honor of Frank Batten Sr., Landmark's founder and the first rector of the ODU Board of Visitors.
