ODU Honors MET '91 ODU Graduate, Honorable Kenny Wright - Portsmouth Mayor

The Honorable Kenny Wright, who was elected Mayor of Portsmouth, this past November recently received the Hugo Owens Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Award at a dinner of which honors the memory of the civil rights leader, Dr. Hugo Owens. Dr. Owens demonstrated his concern for advancing the economic interests of all people through the power of education while serving on Old Dominion University's Board of Visitors and as the first African American rector for the institution.
