Lunar New Year Celebration in Webb Center is Feb. 3

Old Dominion University will host the inaugural Lunar New Year Celebration to commemorate the Chinese New Year on Thursday, Feb. 3 from 5 -7 p.m. at in the North Café of Webb Center. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature live bands, Chinese folk singing and Asian food.

According to Aey Wongtrirat, coordinator for international programming with the office of intercultural relations, events like these further strengthen ODU's international community. "This New Year's celebration gives us a great opportunity to educate not only our students, but also the larger community about Asian peoples and their cultures," she said.

The event is organized by the Office of Intercultural Relations, Chinese Student and Scholar Association, Asian Pacific American Student Union and the Thai Student Association. For more information, contact the Office of Intercultural Relations at oir@odu.edu or 683-4406.
