Two Construction Projects Will Cause Lane Closures Near ODU

Two road work projects will cause lane closures near Old Dominion University.

Southbound Hampton Boulevard on the western edge of campus will have alternating lane closures for a day or two, starting Thursday, Jan. 27, for roadway resurfacing work.

Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., the lane closures will affect southbound traffic between Bolling Avenue and 49th Street.

The resurfacing work is necessary to perform final repairs to the roadway following the water main break that occurred in December, and is expected to be completed by Friday, Jan. 28, weather conditions permitting.

On 43rd Street between Powhatan Avenue and Parker Avenue there will also be a single-lane closure to allow for road work.

Message boards will be in place to alert motorists to the repair work at both sites.
