Outstanding College Scholars Honored; Most Inspirational Faculty Members Named
Old Dominion University honored six graduates as Alumni Association Outstanding College Scholars at the Dec. 19 commencement exercises.
English major Heather Wood, of Chesapeake, who had a 4.0 cumulative GPA in the College of Arts and Letters, was named the overall Outstanding University Scholar. The following is a list of the six colleges' top scholars, including each student's most inspirational faculty member (if named).

Engineering and Technology - Michael Dominice, of Yorktown; computer engineering, 3.91; December graduate; Lee Belfore II, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering
Health Sciences - Brandi Trounce, of Virginia Beach; nursing, 4.0; August graduate
Sciences - Tracy Thornton, of Virginia Beach; ocean and earth sciences, 4.0; December graduate; Richard Whittecar, associate professor of ocean, earth and atmospheric sciences.
