ODU'S VIRGINIA MODELING, ANALYSIS AND SIMULATION CENTER (VMASC) RECOMMENDS SOLUTIONS TO HAMPTON ROADS TRANSPORTATION PROBLEMS
The Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC), a multi-disciplinary research center of Old Dominion University located in Suffolk, VA is studying the transportation network in Hampton Roads. A research study was commissioned by a joint House-Senate subcommittee that was formed in 2008. Mike Robinson, VMASC senior project researcher said, "We wanted to find the single best project that would move people around the region during congested periods, not in and out of the region." The study concluded that a modified version of a new bridge tunnel known as the third crossing would be the best project for Hampton Road commuters over the long term. Read the full article.
