David Chapman Is Next Speaker for Provost's Conversations on Teaching and Learning Jan. 11

David Chapman, from the urban studies and public administration department, will be the next Old Dominion University faculty member to speak as part of the Provost's Conversations on Teaching and Learning series.

Hosted by Provost Carol Simpson and the Center for Learning Technologies, the series features many of ODU's award-winning faculty members. Chapman's presentation, "Managing Student Workload: Relevance and Efficiency," will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, in room 1202 of the E.V. Williams Engineering and Computational Sciences Building. All faculty members are invited to attend.

Chapman will address the question: How can we offer our students a rigorous academic workload, while not saddling them with nonproductive work?

Conversations on Teaching and Learning is designed to provide faculty members from across the campus with the opportunity to share, think and reflect on a wide range of teaching and learning issues, according to Simpson.

Archived videos of the series presentations can be viewed at http://clt.odu.edu/pctl or on ODU's YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=odu.
