CEO of The Breeden Company is Landmark Executive-in-Residence Speaker Jan. 20

Kent Little, chief executive officer of The Breeden Company, a Virginia Beach-based real estate development firm, will be the guest lecturer for the Landmark Executive-in-Residence Speaker Series at Old Dominion University on Thursday, Jan. 20. His talk begins at 12:30 p.m. in 1002 Constant Hall.

Little, a CPA who received his bachelor's degree in business administration from ODU, is responsible for all operations, profitability and vision of The Breeden Company's subsidiaries and divisions.

Prior to working with The Breeden Company, Little was an executive with Farm Fresh, a regional, full-service supermarket in Virginia. Starting with Farm Fresh in 1975, he held various positions including chief financial officer and vice president of real estate operations, making him responsible for land acquisitions and development, construction of new stores, asset acquisition and maintenance. He has served on the board of directors for Branch Bank & Trust (BB&T) and The Governor's School for Gifted Children.

The Executive-in-Residence speaker series is sponsored by Landmark Communications and ODU's College of Business and Public Administration. The lectures are free and open to university students, faculty and staff, and to the public as space permits. Lunch is provided.

The series is designed to enrich students' entrepreneurial spirit, their awareness of the success that can be built on academic experience and their understanding of the importance of leading with integrity. It is dedicated to bringing accomplished business leaders, authors and internationally known speakers to campus to share their history and vision, giving students the opportunity to learn firsthand the strategies and experiences that forge great ethical global leaders.

Established in 2001, the series is funded by an endowment from a group of former Landmark Communications executives in honor of Frank Batten Sr., Landmark's founder and the first rector of the ODU Board of Visitors.
