Neukrug to discuss his 'Stories of Great Therapists' website on 'With Good Reason' June 10
Edward Neukrug, professor of counseling and human services at Old Dominion University, will be a guest on an upcoming "With Good Reason" radio program.
The show will be broadcast locally by WHRV (89.5 FM) at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10.
Neukrug has been collecting oral histories from colleagues and former patients of some of the great psychologists of our time for a website called "Stories of Great Therapists." On the site, one can hear people reminiscing about their encounters with some of the giants in the field, such as B.F. Skinner and Carl Rogers. Neukrug's project was funded by an ODU Faculty Innovator Grant.
Also on the show will be Kristin Swenson of Virginia Commonwealth University, who will discuss her new book, "Bible Babel: Making Sense of the Most Talked About Book of All Time." In the book, she explains what the Bible is, where it comes from, and shows how people use it to argue today's most controversial issues.
"With Good Reason" is produced for the Virginia Higher Education Broadcasting Consortium by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and is broadcast in partnership with public radio stations in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Audio files of the full program and its companion news feature will be posted to the "With Good Reason" website. A permanent link can be found at http://withgoodreasonradio.org/2010/06/bible-babel/.
