Four Faculty Members Awarded Eminent Scholar Designation

Old Dominion University Provost Carol Simpson announced June 17 that the title of eminent scholar has been bestowed upon four faculty members: Mark Butler, biological sciences; Gary Edgerton, communication and theatre arts; John Ford, marketing; and Ravindra Joshi, electrical and computer engineering.

The designation recognizes faculty members of unusual merit and service to the university. Only those holding the rank of full professor may be considered for this honor.

A select number of full professors may be designated as eminent scholars. Nominations are accepted from tenured departmental colleagues in the nominee's discipline.
