Board of Visitors Elects Officers

Old Dominion University's Board of Visitors on June 17 elected the following officers for 2010-11: David L. Bernd as rector, Pamela C. Kirk as vice rector and Kenneth E. Ampy as secretary.

Bernd is chief executive officer of Sentara Healthcare, an integrated health system with net revenues of $2.5 billion.

A marketing consultant, Kirk currently works with companies that require guidance and direction for new and existing marketing programs.

Ampy is the founder and CEO of Astyra Corp. Headquartered in Richmond, Astyra is a national provider of information technology staffing and consulting services.

Both Kirk and Ampy are Old Dominion graduates. Kirk received a bachelor's degree in 1988 and Ampy earned a bachelor's degree in 1990. They joined the board in 2005.
