U.S. News & World Report Guide Ranks ODU's Darden College of Education among nation's top 100 education schools

The 2010 U.S. News & World Report guide to university graduate programs has ranked Old Dominion University's Darden College of Education as a Top 100 graduate school of education. The 96th ranking places the college among the nation's best graduate schools of education.

"I am pleased that the Darden College of Education has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top graduate school of education for 2010. This ranking is a reflection of the excellent contributions in scholarship and teaching of the faculty and staff of the college as well as the quality of students entering and graduating from our outstanding degree programs," said William Graves, dean of the Darden College.

The U.S. News rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinion about program quality and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school's faculty, research and students.

These data come from surveys of more than 1,200 programs and some 14,000 academics and professionals that were conducted in fall 2009.
