University Village Bookstore to Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday With a Visit from The Cat In the Hat and Fun Activities

The University Village Bookstore will commemorate the birthday of legendary children's author Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, with a variety of children's activities Saturday, Feb. 27, beginning at 11 a.m.

The bookstore is in University Village at Monarch Way and 45th Street. This event is free and open to the public.

On the program for children - and adults - will be readings of several Dr. Seuss works, with a focus on "The Cat in the Hat," according to Marc Katz, tradebook manager for the bookstore. There will also be readings from other children's books, free gifts, face painting and The Cat in the Hat himself will make an appearance.

A birthday cake will be served at the Baron & Ellin Art Gallery across the street from the bookstore.  Dr. Seuss's birthday was March 2, 1904.

For more information, call the bookstore at 683-0048 or Lisa Snowdy at 683-3122.
