Saturday Session Offers Assistance for Prospective Old Dominion University Students Seeking Federal Aid
College-bound Virginians seeking one-on-one assistance completing the federal financial aid form are invited to a session at Old Dominion University in 108 Rollins Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13.
The session is one of 32 being conducted at colleges and universities statewide, an initiative of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA).
Known as Super Saturday, the sessions will offer financial aid workshops and access to computers, so that financial aid experts can help students electronically submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The meetings will initiate the financial aid application process and help prospective students meet the priority filing date for most Virginia colleges, including ODU.
Two- and four-year colleges and universities and vocational schools across the country use the FAFSA to determine eligibility for student financial aid. Additionally, a $100 Book Scholarship will be awarded to one student at each Super Saturday location.
This event is open to parents and students of all grade levels, as well as adults interested in furthering their education.
