Orchid Lecture is Cancelled

A winter storm in the mid-Atlantic over the weekend has forced the cancellation of the Twilight Lecture Series presentation of "Native Orchids In and Out of the Garden," scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Old Dominion University.

The scheduled speaker, Carol Allen, a horticulturist and orchid expert from Maryland, could not make the trip to Norfolk because of snow and ice near her home, said Timothy Motley, the J. Robert Stiffler Distinguished Professor of Botany and Horticulture at ODU, and one of the organizers of the lecture series.

Tidewater Orchid Society has been a special sponsor of this event. The Twilight Lecture Series is a presentation of ODU and the Norfolk Botanical Garden.
