Diehn Concert Series Presents Contemporary Dance with Live Music

As part of a new regional cooperative effort and under the direction of ODU's Andrey Kasparov, associate professor of music and acclaimed pianist, the Diehn Concert Series and the Norfolk Chamber Consort present "Transformations: Contemporary Dance and Music."

This performance will bring together two prominent choreographers, Starr Foster of Starr Foster Dance Project and Beverly Cordoba Duane of Hampton University, and noted local choreographer Tamika Steeley to premiere their works with live music.

Individual works by each choreographer will be followed by a collaborative piece incorporating ideas by all three choreographers. The performance will also feature the premieres of works by guest composers Christopher Cook and Petros Ovsepyan, in addition to music composed and arranged by John Corigliano, Aurél Holló, Maurice Ravel and Kasparov.

Information on the composers premiering new works can be found at http://faculty.users.cnu.edu/christopher_cook/ and http://www.petrosovsepyan.com/en/home.html.
