Service is Dec. 1 for Sheryn Milton, former director of disability services

Sheryn Davis Faucette Milton, 62, of Virginia Beach, former director of disability services at Old Dominion University, died Nov. 29, 2009. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church with viewing a half hour prior to the service.

A reception will be held in the church immediately following the service. Burial will be in Charlotte, N.C., on Dec. 2. Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Milton served as learning coordinator in ODU's Office of Disability Services from July 1997 to June 2002, and was director of the office from June 2002 to July 2009. In these capacities, she used her unique gifts to counsel and support hundreds of students to realize their academic and personal potential. A graduate of James Madison University, she received a master's degree in education from ODU.

Survivors include her son, Christopher Faucette of Lansing, Mich.; daughters, Allison Dunn of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Sarah Wildey of Wyoming, Mich.; grandchildren Joshua Dunn and Katherine Wildey; her brother, Buck Davis, and sister, Jennifer McKellop, of Charlotte; and former husbands Sidney Faucette of Rockford, Mich., and George Milton of Virginia Beach.
