ODU Weather Alert 12/19 Re. Commencement

The current storm system is causing street flooding in Norfolk, including some roads around campus. Students, parents, faculty and staff are advised to check local news reports or Virginia Department of Transportation's traffic website (www.511va.org) for the current status on local road conditions.

The afternoon commencement ceremonies for the College of Arts and Letters, College of Business and Public Administration, and College of Health Sciences will be held as scheduled at 2 p.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Participants are reminded that the processional from Webb University Center to the Ted Constant Convocation Center was cancelled previously in anticipation of the inclement weather and that all commencement participants will report to the TED, instead of first meeting in Webb Center. Students, faculty/staff and the platform party will robe in the TED.

Participating faculty will robe in the east hallway of the Constant Center, along Monarch Way, and should enter the Constant Center through any entrance except the 43rd Street multipurpose room entrance. Students will check-in and robe in the multipurpose room (Big Blue Room) along 43rd Street. Reporting times have not changed.

Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in Parking Garage "C" (41st St. and Hampton Blvd.), Parking Garage "D" (behind the SpringHill Suites), lot 30 (beside Gornto and BAL, 43rd St. and Hampton Blvd.) and lots 19 and 20 (end of 45th St. between Kaufman Hall and Perry Library). Shuttle service will be provided between lots 19 and 20 and the Constant Center. Please remember that 43rd St. will be closed to vehicle traffic, so you must enter garage "C" via its 41st St. entrance.

Thank you for your understanding and continued cooperation as we work to ensure the safety of our commencement participants and their guests, while preserving the traditions and integrity of the ceremony.
