A Holiday Cards for the Troops Contest and musical performances will be among the highlights of Old Dominion University's ninth annual "Illumination: A Holiday Tradition," Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Free and open to the public, the festival will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the North Mall of Webb University Center with a holiday card decorating contest. The cards will be sent to military members who are deployed over the holidays. The Illumination program will begin at 5:15 p.m. on Kaufman Mall and a reception with music and light refreshments will follow.
In the event of inclement weather, check back here for location change information for the Illumination ceremony.
The event is also a charitable donation drive. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
