'Baskets for Books' Game to Benefit University Libraries
The Old Dominion University men's basketball team and Friends of the Old Dominion University Libraries will join forces Saturday, Jan. 16, for the annual "Baskets for Books" game.
Two local celebrities will compete in a free-throw contest during halftime of the ODU-Drexel game, which tips off at 7 p.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Each basket made will earn $25 for the University Libraries, thanks to ESPN Radio (94.1 FM).
Game tickets purchased through Friends of the Libraries include club-level seating, which features oversized cushioned seats and a free buffet of pizza, soft drinks and bottled water. There will be a cash bar for other beverages. Of the $20 ticket price, $6 constitutes a tax-deductible donation to the ODU Libraries.
Game tickets are available by contacting Paul Homsher at 497-6833 (phompsu53@aol.com) or Mary Lewis Ash at 489-8643 (kickash@cox.net).
