ODU Football is Theme for Book Signing This Friday at Village Bookstore

Old Dominion University's Peter Stewart, associate professor emeritus of history, and ODU alumnus Thomas Garrett will sign copies of their new book, "The Legacy Renewed: Football and Foreman Field: Norfolk Division - Old Dominion University," from 1-1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the University Village Bookstore on Monarch Way.

Monarch football coach Bobby Wilder also will be present to sign Monarch Maniac T-shirts, and Big Blue and the cheerleaders have been invited as well.

Stewart, who still teaches a History of Sports course at the university, wrote the text for the book, while Garrett acquired the historical photos and conducted some of the research. Published by Outer Banks Press, the book includes a foreword by another ODU graduate, ESPN SportsCenter anchor Jay Harris.

For more information contact Marc Katz, trade book manager for the University Village Bookstore, at 423-2308 or mkatz@odu.edu.
