New Video Profiles Spotlight ODU Faculty
The talents of some of Old Dominion University's dynamic, accomplished faculty are on display in a new medium.
Eight of the school's leading faculty members have been profiled on video, which showcases their cutting-edge, collaborative research, and innovative, engaging teaching methods. The profiles are available for viewing on ODU's YouTube site, at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=E59AEB9BB7425762
Jennifer Mullen Collins, assistant vice President for marketing and communications, said the profiles provide just eight examples of the university's talented faculty.
"We have outstanding faculty in all six of our colleges. The individuals we've profiled are deserving of the recognition. But so are many other faculty members, across multiple disciplines," Mullen Collins said.
"We plan to produce more profiles, to continue spotlighting the fantastic work our faculty members do."
The eight faculty members profiled are Shaomin Li, professor of marketing and international business in the College of Business and Public Administration; Michele Darby, professor and eminent scholar at the Gene W. Hirschfield School of Dental Hygiene; Vijayan Asari, professor of electrical and computer engineering and director of the ODU Vision Lab; Pat Hatcher, Batten Endowed Chair in Physical Sciences, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, and executive director of the Virginia Coastal Energy Research Consortium; Larry Weinstein, professor of physics; John Adam, professor of mathematics; Mounir Laroussi, professor of electrical and computer engineering and director of ODU's Applied Plasma Technology Laboratory.
The final profile actually features an entire team - the engineers and researchers who work at ODU's Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center.
The profiles, which each run between two and three minutes, were produced in collaboration by the offices of University Relations and Academic Technology Services.
