Letter to University Supervisors from the Department of Human Resources
It is important for supervisors to take action to prevent the spread of the H1N1 flu virus at work. This includes reminding your employees to not come to work if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) created a poster to help employers communicate to employees the importance of staying home and not spreading the virus.
Please use the following link to access the poster and post it throughout your departments:

If an employee reports to work with flu-like symptoms, send him or her home. Be flexible in requiring documentation from a health care provider to support the absence.
Encourage staff to check the Campus Health Alerts site on the University's web page for up-to-date information on the H1N1 flu virus.
Human Resources, with assistance from Student Health Services and the University's Swine Flu Committee, will continue to provide information to faculty and staff. Please contact Human Resources at 683-3042 if you have questions.
