Corporate Woods Drive Performs Aug. 8 for Music on Monarch Way Concert Series

The University Village summer concert series, Music on Monarch Way, continues at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, with the blues, funk and rock band Corporate Woods Drive.

Based out of Norfolk, the band features Jay Einhorn, 16, Willie Einhorn, 18, Neal Friedman, 17, Jacob Snyder, 15, and Zach Wang, 15, who have combined their love of blues to create hip music. The band "paints itself in the Stevie Ray Vaughan and Cream shade of blue," according to reporter Jeff Maisey in The Virginian-Pilot. Playing at venues such as the Norva and the Jewish Mother, the group has a growing and diverse audience that includes everyone from high schoolers to baby boomers.

Sponsored by the Old Dominion University Real Estate Foundation and the University Village, the Saturday evening concerts are held from 5-7 p.m. on the lawn behind ODU's Ted Constant Convocation Center along Monarch Way. Concert admission and parking are free.
