Army and Naval ROTC to Hold Joint Pass-in-Review Friday

Old Dominion University President John Broderick will speak at the annual joint Army/Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Pass-in-Review (PIR) on Kaufman Mall at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28.

The PIR is a time-honored military tradition in which the freshmen from ODU's Army and Naval ROTC units assemble before their parents and members of the campus community to display their marching skills and military discipline.

The PIR is the culminating event for the freshmen who participate in Orientation week (or "O-week"), a challenging training program that includes obstacle courses, leadership and ethics instruction, drill and ceremonies - everything the new midshipmen and cadets will need to start their journey to a commission as officers in the U.S. Army, Navy or Marine Corps.
