JCOTS Meeting Highlights ODU Research Initiatives

Old Dominion University hosted a meeting of the Joint Commission on Technology and Science (JCOTS) July 9. The meeting included a number of presentations that gave an overview of research initiatives at the university.

Mark Scerbo, professor of psychology at ODU (pictured) is demonstrating a virtual surgery simulator to the members of JCOTS. Scerbo's research focuses on human performance with medical/surgical simulators and adaptive technology.

JCOTS was created by the 1997 Virginia General Assembly as a permanent legislative commission. The commission is charged to generally study all aspects of technology and science and to promote the development of technology and science in Virginia through sound public policies.
