Tornado Watch in Effect

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch in effect from now until 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service recommends that you remain vigilant for threatening weather.

University officials are monitoring the storm and will announce any closings or delays as appropriate. Please regularly check www.odu.edu for updates.

The following local media outlets will also carry information about delays or closings: television stations WTKR-TV 3, WAVY-TV 10, WVEC-TV 13 and radio stations WNIS-AM 790, WHRV-FM 89.5 and WHRO-FM 90.3

If the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning for the area around ODU, the University will send out an emergency alert.

In the event of an actual tornado, faculty, staff and students should seek shelter in buildings with windowless interior rooms (closet, bathroom, interior hall) on the lowest level of the building.

Continue to check this site for updates and additional information.

Any campus emergencies should be reported to campus police by call 683-4000.
