Bookstore Unveils Summer Hours, Sales, Story Times
As Old Dominion University's Village Bookstore gears up for summer, it has brought in 25 popular-fiction bestsellers in large numbers for a special offer.
When you buy two books from the list of titles - including "Brave New World," "The Bell Jar," "Their Eyes Were Watching God" and "The Alchemist" - you'll get a third book from the list, free.
They make great "beach reads," the bookstore says.
The store, located at the corner of Monarch Way and 45th Street, is now on its summer hours schedule: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The summer hours also mean summer Story Time for children at the bookstore.
The first Story Time in the free series begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, and will last about 45 minutes. Free parking is available at Garage D across 45th Street.
The Village Bookstore plans to have story time most Saturday mornings, always at 10 a.m., all through the summer. Sometimes an activity will be included for the kids as well.
