High School Guidance Counselors to Tour ODU's Center for Advanced Engineering Environments
Old Dominion University's Center for Advanced Engineering Environments (CAEE) will conduct tours for two sets of high school guidance counselors in the next few weeks.
On April 15 and April 22, a group of 50 guidance counselors from Hampton Roads schools will visit the Hampton research center for an overview of CAEE's current and planned activities in visual simulations.
CAEE specializes in research into immersive, interactive, three-dimensional environments, and using them as teaching tools.
"We are living in a rapidly changing, technology-driven world," said CAEE Director Ahmed Noor, professor and eminent scholar of aerospace engineering. "Last week is not like this week.
"Innovation will be the most important asset for any nation's success. We need to seek an innovation-driven future. Our center is a prototype of an interactive, immersive learning environment, which will keep young people stimulated."
The Center for Advanced Engineering Environments will also conduct an open house on May 12. For more information, contact CAEE at caee@odu.edu.
