Modeling and Simulation Program Gets Boost
The Batten College will refine and expand its Modeling and Simulation Graduate Program with a $100,000 grant awarded by Boeing Co.
"We'll develop new courses, evaluate what's being done in the program and look at how to incorporate advanced education technologies," said Rani Kady, an assistant professor in ODU's Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology, in a news release. "As our program expands, that makes the pool of prospective employees larger for companies like Boeing."
ODU will add three new courses and make other changes to the curriculum to take effect around spring 2010.
BCET and VMASC are among the main supporters of this year's Spring Simulation 2009. Andreas Tolk, Associate Professor for Engineering Management and Systems Engineering, will chair the symposium on "Emerging M&S Applications in Industry and Academia Symposium (EAIA)" that comprises the three tracks on Modeling & Simulation in Engineering (MSEng), Modeling & Simulation in Education (MSE), and Business and Industry (BIS) applications. The track in M&S in Education is chaired John Sokolowski, Director of Research at VMASC. SpringSim 2009 will be conducted in San Diego, CA, March 22-27, 2009.
