ODU's Upcoming Town Hall Meeting Is Topic of "HearSay" Program Today
Panelists at Saturday's town hall meeting at Old Dominion University will be guests today on WHRV-FM's (89.5) midday talk show, "HearSay with Cathy Lewis," to discuss the impact that suspected gang violence is having on the youth incarceration rate.
The meeting, co-sponsored by ODU's Institute for Community Justice and the city of Norfolk, will bring together experts in the field of juvenile justice to explore the causes of, and possible solutions to, the overrepresentation of minorities in the juvenile justice system.
Guests on today's program will include the meeting's keynote speaker, Shay Bilchik, director of the Center for Juvenile Justice Reform at Georgetown University Public Policy Institute, and panelist Clinton Lacey of the W. Haywood Burns Institute for Juvenile Justice Fairness and Equity. They will be joined by Norfolk City Councilwoman Daun Hester.
