Internationally Known Ceramic Artist Presents Lecture Tonight
Brad Schwieger, an internationally known ceramic artist, will give workshop demonstrations and a gallery lecture at Old Dominion University as part of the art department's visiting lecture series. All are free and open to the public.
He will demonstrate large thrown and sculptural methods with clay from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, in room 115 at the ODU Ceramics Studio, located at 1028 46th St. and Monarch Way in the University Village.
He will present a gallery lecture at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries, 4509 Monarch Way, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21.
Schwieger is the ceramics area chair at Ohio University, where he has taught since 1990. He received a master of fine arts degree from Utah State University and bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Iowa. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including more than 100 exhibitions throughout the United States, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, England, Germany, Czech Republic and Spain.
