Moore Receives Fulbright Scholarship

Pittsylvania County native and Tunstall High School graduate Jason K. Moore has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study in The Netherlands. Moore gradu-ated from Tunstall High in 2000 and received a bache-lor's degree in mechanical engineering with minors in mathematics and philosophy from Old Dominion University in 2004. In Norfolk, while at Old Dominion, Moore became interested in more sustainable living practices. He became a vegetarian and started riding a bicycle for transportation in-stead of driving a car. "I led a bicycle design team my senior year of college in which we designed, constructed and raced a human powered vehicle," said Moore. "This helped fuel my interest in bicycle design and technology."
