Galapagos Islands Researcher to Speak at CCPO Seminar

John Morrison, professor in the Department of Physics and Physical Oceanography at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, will discuss his studies of the oceanographic conditions around the Galapagos Islands at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, as part of the fall seminar series of Old Dominion University's Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography (CCPO).

The talk in CCPO's Room 3200 in the Innovation Research Park@ODU Building 1 will be preceded by a reception with refreshments beginning at 3 p.m. The seminars in the series are free and open to the public.

The research of Morrison, who also is affiliated with UNCW's Center for Marine Research, involves modeling and observation to assess large-scale climate events that may alter the biodiversity of the Galapagos region. More about his work can be found at www.uncwil.edu/PHY/fac-morrison.html.
