ODU Engineering College to Host Open House Tonight
The Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology at Old Dominion University will host a fall open house tonight for prospective students, parents, teachers and counselors from 5-7 p.m. in Kaufman Hall. The event is designed to share information about the college's programs and facilities and to introduce high school students to fields of study in engineering.
"The college is debuting a Fall Engineering Open House this year," said Associate Dean Linda Vahala. "We hope that this event, in addition to our Open House and Design Contest held every February, will provide students, parents and educators, as well as the general public, the opportunity to experience some fascinating lab demonstrations, explore educational opportunities and expand their understanding of the various fields of engineering."
Labs tours will include: the Wave Tank, Water Treatment Lab, Materials Lab, Clean Room, Medical Imaging Lab, RAM Jet and Electric Machinery Lab. The student-led tours will depart every 15 minutes between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Registration is required.
