Doctoral Student to Speak on Sea Circulation Along Antarctic Peninsula Today

Andrea Pinones, a doctoral student in the Old Dominion University Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, will speak on "Circulation on the Western Antarctic Peninsula and Implications for Biological Production," at a fall seminar of ODU's Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6.

Pinones will discuss the relative contribution of circulation in producing high concentrations of marine mammals and other predators in certain regions along the Western Antarctic Peninsula continental shelf.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at a reception from 3-3:30 p.m. in the third-floor lounge of the Innovation Research Park @ ODU Building and the lecture will follow in Room 3200.
