ODU Appoints New Director of Study Abroad
Old Dominion University and the Office of International Programs announce the appointment of Steve Bell as the new director of the Office of Study Abroad. Bell's appointment became effective Aug. 25 and concludes a national search. He succeeds Steve Johnson, who headed the office for 12 ½ years before retiring to Florida.
Bell comes to ODU from the University of Texas at Austin, where he most recently served as the senior program coordinator for international program development in the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies and International Initiatives. In his service at UT-Austin, Bell actively collaborated and coordinated with deans, chairs, faculty and advisors toward the development and promotion of education abroad opportunities.
Bell earned his master's degree in international and intercultural administration at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vt.
The Office of Study Abroad is located on the second floor of Dragas Hall, at the corner of Hampton Boulevard and 49th Street.
