Michelle Obama Hosts Military Spouse Roundtable on Campus
Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, will visit Old Dominion University Wednesday, Aug. 6, during a Hampton Roads campaign stop. This invitation-only event is not open to the public or campus community.
According to a news release from the campaign, she will "meet with military spouses from the community to hear their stories, and discuss the unique challenges they face, juggling career and family responsibilities, with the added burden of having a spouse serving in the military."
The release further states: "the campaign will launch 'Blue Star Families for Obama,' a national military families council that will advise both Sen. and Mrs. Obama on issues facing military families, and coordinate with the campaign in planning events with military families around the country."
