Congressional Delegation Announces Modeling and Simulation Grant Program
The Chairman of the Congressional Modeling and Simulation Caucus, Rep. Randy Forbes (above), teamed with fellow Hampton Roads leaders Rep. Thelma Drake and Rep. Bobby Scott on Tuesday, to announce passage of a $40 million grant program for modeling and simulation programs at institutions of higher education.
Speaking at ODU's Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center, in "Sim City," Forbes said, "The grants will provide critical funding to educational institutions that want to take advantage of this new and promising technology."
Currently, ODU is one of only three schools nationwide to offer courses in M&S and stands to receive a minimum of $750,000 to support existing programs or to expand the course offerings.
