Hollywood Comes to the Langley Wind Tunnel

Production filming for "The Box," a horror movie that takes place in 1976 Virginia, recently wrapped up at the Langley Full-Scale Wind Tunnel. The film is directed by Richard Kelly, and stars Cameron Diaz, James Marsden and Frank Langella.

Old Dominion University's Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology operates the wind tunnel. In a letter to Colin Britcher, chair of the ODU aerospace engineering.department, Kelly said, "We wanted to thank you and Old Dominion University for the support during filming of 'The Box.' Everyone involved in the making of this movie knew that filming at NASA was such an essential piece to our film...While filming on location we received outstanding support and extra efforts from your staff. Also, please extend our special gratitude to David Anderson for everything that he did at the Full Scale Tunnel."

A release date for the movie has not been set.
