Faculty Kudos

The new President of International Society of Agile Manufacturing and Chief Editor of International Journal of Agile Manufacturing, Dr. Alok K. Verma, is a recognized expert in Agile Manufacturing with special emphasis on Lean Manufacturing.  He has written several articles for IJAM and has edited special issues of the journal. He also has delivered papers at various ICAM conferences and was the host of the very successful ICAM 2006 in Norfolk.

Moustafa R. Moustafa, an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology led a group of ten ODU faculty, administrators, students, alumni and friends on a 10-day trip to Egypt during spring break which has now become an annual event.

The Hampton Roads Procurement Assistance Center (HRPAC) has received a $60K grant from Norfolk's Economic Development Authority. This funding comes as result of a proposal from Cindy M. Walters, the newly hired Program Manager for HRPAC. Ms. Walters was formerly the Business Operations Manager for Alliant Tech Systems Space Division at NASA Langley Research Center. HRPAC, through the Va. Applied Technology & Professional Development Center, provides small and disadvantaged businesses in Hampton Roads the tools they need for obtaining and sustaining contracting opportunities with the federal, state, and local governments.
