Doctoral Student to Give Lecture at Norfolk Botanical Garden

The Twilight Lecture Series, sponsored by Old Dominion University and the Norfolk Botanical Garden, will feature a talk by Jay Bolin, an ODU doctoral candidate in biological sciences, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13. His lecture, "Island Madagascar: Parasitic Plants and other Unusual Species," will focus on the exotic natural history of the nation, which Bolin visited last year. It will take place in the Rose Garden Pavilion at the Norfolk Botanical Garden.

"This lecture is going to introduce the audience to the incredible biodiversity of Madagascar," Bolin said. "It is a global biodiversity hotspot that is under intense pressure."

The program is free and open to the public. Those who arrive early are welcome to tour the grounds. For more information, contact Scott M. Lowe Jr. at 683-6394 or slowe@odu.edu.
