Musselman Speaks at Chowan University

Lytton Musselman, Old Dominion University's Mary Payne Hogan Professor of Botany and chair of the Department of Biological Sciences, was the keynote speaker at Chowan University's 4th Annual Interdisciplinary Symposium, Exploring the Environment on April 21.

Musselman's topic, "The Need to Resacralize Nature: Religious Keystone Species," reflects his longstanding interest in promoting environmental stewardship by appealing to religious beliefs and practices. He is the author of the extensively illustrated hardback book, "Figs, Dates, Laurel, and Myrrh: Plants of the Bible and the Quran," which was published late in 2007 by Timber Press.

Chowan University is in Murfreesboro, N.C.
