Amy Roloff, Star of TLC's "Little People, Big World," Will Speak Tonight

Amy Roloff, one of the stars of TLC's "Little People, Big World," will speak at 7 p.m. Friday, April 11, in Webb Center's North Cafeteria at Old Dominion University. The talk is free and open to the public. The doors will open to ODU students with a valid ID at 6:30 p.m.; other seating will follow at 6:45 p.m.

Roloff will speak about the challenges and accomplishments she's experienced being a mother, wife, teacher, little person and star of a reality television show. According to TLC's Web site (http://tlc.discovery.com), "Working mom, Amy Roloff, is in charge of the household. She manages the homework, social lives and extracurricular activities of four children, while also holding down two jobs: one part-time for a local soccer club and the other as a preschool teacher. Amy's no-nonsense approach to life helps her handle a busy schedule and a family of four, along with a husband who's a constant dreamer."

Roloff's visit is one of the ODU Office of Student Activities and Leadership's spring PAW (Programs All Weekend) events and is sponsored by the offices in the Division of Student Affairs.

"I've seen 'Little People, Big World' a couple of times, and Amy Roloff is definitely a strong-willed mother," says ODU student Kyonna Withers. "From what I've seen, a lot is handed to her and she handles it all like a pro. I'm anticipating a pretty big crowd, so my friends and I will be there early."
