Oceanography Seminars to Feature ODU Researchers
The Spring 2008 Seminar Series of Old Dominion University's Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography (CCPO) will feature presentations by ODU researchers on March 17 and 24.
Ying Xu, a postdoctoral research scientist with CCPO, will speak on "Turbulent Shear Flow and Langmuir Turbulence in Shallow Water: Large-Eddy Simulation," at 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 17, in Room 3200 of the Innovation Research Park @ ODU building on Monarch Way. Xu works with Chester Grosch, ODU professor of ocean, earth and atmospheric sciences and of computer science.
Olga Polyakov, a CCPO researcher who works with Eileen Hofmann, ODU professor of ocean, earth and atmospheric sciences, will speak at the same time and place on Monday, March 24, on "Analyses of Hard Clam Abundance and Population Structure in Great South Bay, N.Y."
Receptions with refreshments will precede each presentation beginning at 3 p.m.
