ODU To Hold First Creative Writing Publishing Festival, March 29
Old Dominion University's creative writing program will hold its first publishing festival, "So You Think You Can Write? Straight Talk About Publishing," a one-day event for aspiring writers, Saturday, March 29, from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The festival attempts to address several of the big questions that many aspiring writers want to know: how do I get published? What will it be like once I am published? What changes can I expect in the industry?
ODU creative writing professors Sheri Reynolds, Lenore Hart, and Luisa Igloria are among the presenters scheduled to participate in Saturday's festival. Other presenters include award-winning poets, writers and publishing industry specialists. The day's activities will close with a keynote address by poet Richard Jones at 7 p.m. in Batten Arts and Letters 1012.
Aspiring writers interested in attending the publishing festival can register on-line at http://al.odu.edu/english/mfacw/2008fes/. The registration fee of $45 is payable by check or money order.
