ODU Presidential Search Update
Old Dominion University has retained the services of the executive search firm Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, which specializes in providing executive recruitment services to colleges, universities, independent schools and not-for-profit organizations, to assist the ODU Presidential Search Committee in finding a successor to President Roseann Runte.
ODU Board of Visitors Rector Marc Jacobson said Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates is well placed, with more than 25 consultants and support staff located in two main offices (Los Angeles and Philadelphia) plus three affiliated offices in Vermont, Virginia and Florida.
More than one-third of all the searches conducted by Storbeck/Pimentel are for the positions of president and chancellor, with an even larger proportion for the wide array of senior officers, including provosts, vice presidents and deans.
The firm's higher education clients include California State University-Berkeley, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Georgetown University, Rutgers and the University of Michigan.
On March 17, the ODU Presidential Search Committee hosted an open forum for faculty and staff. Facilitated by Storbeck/Pimentel, the forum invited employees to share with the committee their views of the current state of Old Dominion, their ambitions for the university, and the qualities, skills and experiences they would like to see in the next president.
