Author, Actress at ODU Village Bookstore Today

Victoria Rowell, a two-time Emmy Award-nominated actress (known to many as the feisty Drucilla Winters on CBS' "The Young and the Restless"), eleven-time winner of the NAACP Image Award, and acclaimed author, will appear at Old Dominion University's Village Bookstore today from 12 - 2 p.m.

An actress, advocate, mother, former foster child and now a New York Times bestselling author, Rowell is currently on a national whistle-stop book tour for the release of her touching memoir, "The Women Who Raised Me," a tribute not only to the amazing women who cared for her when her birth mother could not, but to the foster system that brought them into her life.

Published by William Morrow/An Imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, the memoir received The African American Literary Award and two NAACP Image Award nominations in the literary category

Rowell's visit is sponsored by the Department of Women's Studies, the Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, the Division of Student Affairs, the Women's Center, the Dean's Office of College of Arts and Letters, the Interdisciplinary Studies Programs, and the Department of Communication and Theater Arts.

The University Village Bookstore is located at 45th Street and Monarch Way in the University Village at Old Dominion University.
